The second the traffic lights turn green, a surge of people rush into the intersection.
As I merge into the crowd, I feel that I might disappear into the sea of people.
This was the initial sensation that gave me a sense of being human.
I felt that I was somehow different from everyone else.
This made me fearful.
Why do we perceive “being different” as something so hard to accept?
The innumerable answers to this question lie in many books.
I can understand what each is trying to postulate, yet I still desire to be cherished and appreciated.
We often hesitate to express our joy that emanates from our sense of fulfillment.
Yet I have no confidence whatsoever in maintaining an expressionless façade.
I’m waiting, this time unflinching, with the premonition of once again being thrown into the wastelands of fate.
