MEM is pleased to present Mirrors, the latest photographic series, by Tomoko Sawada.
In Mirrors, Sawada explores the boundary between your own appearance and the self image reflected in a mirror. They are just like twins, who are quite resemble although totally different. The artist also tackles the issue of identity questioning how you recognize your own self when you see yourself in mirrors, videos and photographs. Mirrors is a sequel to Decoration, 2008, which dealt with the identity of teen-age girls belonging to the certain type of street fashion.
